To be welcomed with such warmth & so many smiles was a perfect first impression that continued throughout our stay.
Nothing about this hotel, the wonderful staff & unique surroundings is less than perfect. Beautifully presented rooms, a truly dazzling choice of dining & that's without mentioning the Taj Mahal, almost a touching distance from the carefully manicured gardens & pool.
We will be returning.

This property is situated very close from the Taj Mahal. This is the closest hotel to the Taj and has the best views. They need to be seen to be believed. I don’t really need to say anymore. The property has great lawns, fountains, pool and pavilions with rich interiors.
This is a premium and an expensive stay and i suggest opting for a Premier Room with Balcony, giving you the chance to sit down and just look out at the Taj.
Lastly the property has a very high staff-guest ratio sometimes over the top but every need was seen to quickly and without hesitation. Excellent food and experiencing the hotel’s famous breakfast spread is an experience I know I won’t soon forget, and was yet another special way for me to enjoy my time admiring the Taj Mahal.

Great location, not so great attitude towards walk in guest who don't have room reservations
No you can't walk in for lunch at a restaurant or coffee at the shop, you need room reservations, more particularly if you're brown & do not have the NRI accent ’’
Remember you can have ton of cash, you can't buy class....
Thanks for the reminder ’’’’

Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We genuinely appreciate your comments, as they provide us with valuable insights to enhance our guest experience.
We strive to maintain an atmosphere of exclusivity and comfort for all our guests, which is why we encourage prior reservations for dining at our restaurant. Due to the limited seating capacity, particularly during peak times, we find that advance bookings help us ensure a seamless experience for everyone.
While we do not have a dedicated coffee shop on the premises, our restaurant offers a variety of dining options that we invite our guests to enjoy. We highly recommend making reservations in advance, especially for meal periods, to secure a table and avoid disappointment.
We regret any misunderstanding that may have arisen during your visit and appreciate your understanding of our reservation policy.

Nothing on how to get prior reservation for dining only.... So basically you need a reservation, that is our hotel policy.
My suggestion: they should put a board outside "No Entry for Indians without Reservation"
Why only Indians? Because while I was there White Couple without Reservation was taken to the restaurant.
Reminds me of the old British signage "Indians & Dogs not allowed"

This hotel is one of a kind, not because of its amazing location, nor because of its luxury amenities or splendid rooms but because of its unbelievably attentive, kind and efficient staff. It's unique.
Oberoi Amarvilas staff deserves 7 stars.
