Very good experience. Decent hotel, very friendly staff and good food. Overall I enjoyed my stay

The two good things about the Hotel that stood out were: A. Good location : The hotel is within walking distance from the main Madikieri town. It is also a short 20 minute walk (1.5km or so) from the Raja's seat and Omkareshwar temple. Hence we could cover those places without having to hire a car. B. Rooms are nice and clean. The hotel has a good verandah type open place. However, on the flip side, the service and the dining options were not very good. The hotel manager told us that the time we went (end-Oct) was off-season, but I did not buy that as the reason for poor service. Also, the dining options on the menu were very limited. Imagine having only Puri-Bhaji for breakfast !! Not even Idli and Dosa.. :( Overall, while the hotel scores on the location and basic room facilities, the dining lets it down.

Access The hotel is conveniently located on the highway and is just a Kilometer before the central Madekeri Town. The hotel has open car parks but sufficient considering the 22 odd rooms available. All rooms are on the same floor with a nice foyer which my daughter(1 year old) enjoyed. The room was neat and tidy and had a sit out with a few chairs. This was particularly nice as it gave us an opportunity to spend time in the late evenings, gazing the starts , undeterred by the chilly winds. Food and Room Service: Food was not great, room service was slow. the hotel claims to have a seperate veg and a non veg restuarent, but a closer analysis throws up that only the dining halls are seperate. Food comes from the same kitchen downstairs! Breakfast was included in our plan, however the first day (not a weekend), the hotel was not full and they did not have anything to eat for breakfast except Idlis, which were cold and (probably) bought from outside. Second day (weekend), they had arranged for a Buffet Breakfast which was reasonably ok. Pricing: The hotel looks slightly overpriced (at Rs.1900 per night). Overall verdict Considering the cleanliness and the accessibility, it is ok for a weekend stay. Plus Points: 1. Very courteous staff (front desk), 2.Easy accessibility, 3.Neatly maintained. Minus Points: 1.Food is not great. 2.Slow Room Service. 3. Frequent Power cuts (no automatic power backup, need to wait some time before some one switches on the Generator).

Horrible Room...with foul smell... Very ordinary hotel of Rs.500/- category.... Not worth of Rs.2850 (Incld Tax)... Even Metro city in India will have star rated hotel at lesser cost.
