St. James Court Beach Resort

This was our long pending weekend trip and were very apprehensive about the stay we had to choose.. searched a lot on internet and finally blindly opted for St.James Court. then called up the travel Guru which was suggested one of my friend. Now for the resort. we drove down from Chennai. The resort was just off the ECR road opposite to PEC. There is a beautiful Shirdi Baba temple just at the entrance of the resort. Even though it is just off the main road the atmosphere is peaceful. there is ample parking space of atleast 20 cars. We went to reception cleared the formalities quickly the lady at the reception seems to have difficulties in smiling(looks like a serious type) but was courteous enough. the Boy came and collected the luggage from the Car and we were shown to out Room. 216 on the 2nd floor.No Lift. the room was nice & spacious AC was good except for little dripping in one of the ducts though it did not hinder us much.Bathroom was neat and clean. Sea facing. no Balcony. the only disadvantage the view was blocked by the restaurant building. Other wise it was beautiful. The swimming pool. The pool was good they had one large pool 5ft depth. one kids pool, which divided into two.the pool maintenance was not good. partly guests to be blamed. the was room was not attached to the pool. it was at one end of the lawn.i would rate the pool to be average. The Lawn was nice & well maintained. The beach is easily accessible from the resort and they had a life guard keeping an eye on the guests at the beach. Dining- The food was decent.and very price very nominally.the complimentary breakfast was the surprise. they provided a buffet with a good spread of south Indian and continental spread. the spread included Idli,Vada,Pongal, Puri and bread butter and Jam, boiled egg. Of course Coffee and Tea. Food was Good. Service - Room service was good for the little time we spend and little service we used, the boys were all pleasant and help full. Overall i was glad about the selection of this resort for this short stay.i would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anybody.

The Hotel is on the ECR Road and is easily accessible. There is no covered parking area. But there is a security who is alert to keep your vehicle protected. The ambiance of the resort is excellent with a big garden and an excellent Lawn. The resort has taken great effort to keep the lawn in the scorching heat and sun!. The rooms are just Ok but the view from the room is good. They allow outsiders in the open air restaurant and hence not good for family dining as outsiders come just for boozing. Apart from this the Resort is worthy for the penny you spend for the Holiday.

A GOOD BEACH SIDE RESORT.THEY NEED TO PUT IN A LOT OF EFFORT IN THEIR DINING OPTIONS. ALL THE THREE MEALS ARE VERY VERY AVERAGE.STAFF, OTHERWISE IS VERY PROMPT.

Room service was very slow, had to remind thrice on most occasions. They charge extra after booking it which was terribly disappointing. "Complimentary" Breakfast is worst than a road side shops food.

This was my second stay at this resort. This time I was visiting with my parents and in-laws family. I tried to book directly by calling them referring my last stay but booking turned out to be cheaper and I went for that. The resort seems to be managed by family members and the facilities are not great but satisfactory considering the cost. Food and room service is pathetic.
