I stayed at MaaYoga ashram in the hotel for 5 days. The experience was great! The rooms were spacious, very clean and tidy. The food was extremely healthy and delicious. The yoga sessions and mantra classes were thought by a very good instructor who payed a lot of close personal attention. The different panchakarma treatments I got were incredible. Each session was 90 mins long and the masseus were very good. The staff and the owners of the ashram were very open and friendly. They invited me along on things like going to dip in the Ganges. Overall, it was a very nice get away to detox and relax here.

I stayed for 3 days. Had lovely and comfortable experience. My day started with morning yoga classes with personalized attention by yoga teacher. The energy of people and environment is great!! Such beautiful people and premises’ have had a very calming affect. The food was great and fresh also. Am very happy with my experience. Dr Amrit Raj and Dr Rakesh are very enthusiastic and welcoming giving personalised attention to us while we were there. Could not have asked for more’

I have had a great time on my retreat, the family makes you apart of their family. They are kind and welcoming. The yoga pushed me past points I thought I could go. I was sick on part of my retreat and they were all kind and helpful and accommodating for me to get better. The ashram is a calm and safe environment especially for a young solo female traveler, I felt like it was a slice of peace after my busy travels. For me this experience was also a great way to learn Indian culture, through the practises, food and interactions with the people. The food was so yum and safe for me with a western stomach, it was healthy, vegetarian which was a nice cleanse from the heavy meat based meals of many of the recent countries I visited. The accomodation was basic but everything I needed, they gave me another blanket as I got a bit cold in the night as it is winter now. It was clean and tidy and they provided me with water to drink which was well needed, the shower was clean and there were soaps there too. They also offered to do a room clean but as I was only there for 5 days I decided not to but it was nice for them to offer. The treatments that were part of the retreat were relaxing and new for me so I was confused at points but after asking it made sense to me. I saw some beautiful sunrises and sunset due to the early morning yoga and evening aarti ceremony. Rishikesh was a perfect place to begin my trip in India, especially at maa ashram retreat where I could connect safely with local people. I am grateful for my experience and recommend this to any solo traveller who wants a well priced wellbeing retreat. Staff were helpful with organising a taxi for me from the airport and also a tuktuk to the bus station on leaving. They also organised laundry for me which was nice and easy before my tour in India where I will struggle to get washing done. My meeting with the doctors were a different experience for me, I have tried many natural health consults but this was different for me, I think with a better understanding of Ayurveda it would be more helpful to me. I cannot give a review of the products suggested to me as I could not fit them in my bag to take them with me but they claimed to take 45 days and heal my migraines completely so take that as you will. Overall it was a good experience and I think you should consider going on a retreat if you are visiting rishikesh.

Sattvic food and herbal tea support your practice any moment. You just wake up and follow your classes, follow your transformation and positive changes.
